Actual Surveyors was selected by a local contractor to provide construction stakeout services in support of the City of Lynchburg’s multi-phase sewer improvements.  The project known as Phase 1D3.2 will install approximately 31 new sanitary sewer manholes, 103 storm sewer structures and 2555 linear feet of waterline. This project represents a milestone for our company, in size and scope.

Actual Surveyors was selected by a local contractor to provide construction stakeout services for the Parkland Drive/ Quarry Road Rain Garden. A rain garden is a structure that helps to remove pollution from storm water. The basic concept of a Rain Garden is to force water to be used by the water dependant plants within the garden, evaporate, or infiltrate through a media layer (usually mulch of some type) which allows sediment, oils, phosphates etc. to be extracted from the water. The application of garden plants that love perpetually wet soils also provides an aesthetically pleasing naturescape. This, particular raingarden used an “S” type design to allow the water the longest route of travel to allow pollutants to settle before being discharged into the storm sewer system.
